Got a sweet tooth? Try the Bauducco Panettone!

Recently, we were given the chance to try out some new yummy treats from Bauducco Panettone. We were able to check out the chocolate, as well as the fruit panettone. While we are more fans of the Chocolate, we did take the fruit one to Tucker’s preschool for snack day. The kids loved it!!

Panettones

Product Details

  • Bauducco Panettone is the classic Italian holiday bread, so light and airy, with raisins, candied papaya, lime, apple and raisins, and packaged in the big square gift boxes. Each one takes 52 hours to make.

About the company

  • Bauducco is an international food company and leading producer of baked goods in Brazil. Founded in Sao Paulo in 1950 by Italian immigrant Carlo Bauducco, the company continues to be owned and operated by members of the third generation Bauducco family.Carlo Bauducco was born near the Italian city of Turin in 1906. He learned about business while working at his family’s pastry shop where he showed promise and drive. As a boy he opened a small shop for making sodas, and by the age of 17 was in his own business selling Italian products and imports to small grocery stores in the region.A chance opportunity in 1948, just after the war, lead the family to Brazil when Carlo sold bread making machines to pastry shops in Sao Paulo. Brazil was beautiful, safe and growing. New businesses were prospering, and people from all over Europe were living together in peace. The Bauducco family began making Panettones using its special recipe directly from Italy. A single batch of “mother yeast” from Italy was brought to Brazil for Carlo Bauducco’s first panettone, and that original mother yeast has been carefully kept alive the 69 years since then to make a new batch of panettone for each holiday season.

The panettone recipe has always been the same: take the best ingredients, leave the dough to rise with natural fermentation and dedicate 52 hours to producing each panettone. With great dedication, work and a special talent for baking, the family saw its panettone become increasingly recognized for its quality and unique taste. In the past six decades much has changed but the care and dedication in which Bauducco Panettones are made remain the same. Quality and tradition made Bauducco the best selling Panettone in the USA and worldwide.

Today, Bauducco is the largest producer of oven-baked products in Brazil and the largest producer of panettones in the world. Bauducco’s industrial center is one of the most advanced in Latin America. Bauducco has five manufacturing plants, with capacity to produce more than 200,000 tons annually, 2,900 full-time and 1,500 temporary employees on the team.

Bauducco is always inventing something new in its product lines. After all, even though the company is a model of modern industry, its secret is still the homemade touch of the family recipes.

Mom’s thoughts

  • Basically, the panettone looks like a big cupcake. The kids devoured it in no time. Well, we all did! I loved the taste of the panettone. It was so much like a homemade treat! We are looking forward to finding these locally to take to our upcoming holiday events. I mentioned above that we took the fruit panettone to Tucker’s preschool. What a great and easy snack for your kids’ school! We had so many compliments on it, the kids loved it and it was the perfect size to feed about 14 kids. This feeds more mouths than you would think! All in all – great treat. Great snack! Great flavor. Loved everything abou tit!
